The Terry Demming Foundation
The Terry Demming Foundation honors the life of Terry Demming, who passed away in 2018 at 7 years old in a drowning accident. Terry was a natural born athlete, blessed with talent and grace at every sport he tried. He loved to be outside playing sports, particularly baseball and football. He loved The Yankees, The Montclair Bulldogs, The Mounties, and Daddy's softball team.

In memory of Terry's joyous love of everything baseball, the Terry Demming Foundation is hosting a 3-day baseball and softball invitational throughout Essex County, NJ.
Mission
In memory of the life and spirit of Terry, the Terry Demming Foundation's mission is to develop content and awareness about water safety. The content created by the organization will be accessible and disseminated via a free app as well as through public health departments and public entities. The foundation also seeks to establish best practices and water safety for all individuals, particularly for people of color, who experience drowning and water accidents at a much higher rate.

2023 Objectives
Founded in 2022, the first step for our organization was to undertake content development regarding water safety. This is complete. The foundation is pleased to announce its 2023 plans for the Spring ad Fall of 2023. Click here for more information.

The Terry Demming Foundation also aims to deliver water safety information by partnering with public health departments to manage the distribution of said information to public entities and the public in general.
Use of Funds
No board member of the Terry Demming Foundation will financially benefit from any funds raised, third-party grants, or any other funds provided to the foundation.

The Foundation will maintain 501(c)3 status with the IRS and will issue an annual report audited by a third-party accountant.

Board Officers
The Demming Family is taking the leadership positions on the Board of Directors for the Terry Demming Foundation. The Demming Family intends to build the board over the next 12 months, and to add an advisory council focused on water safety.
Vincent Demming Jr.
Board Chairman
Vincent is Board Chairman for UBS Warburg in Wealth Management. As Terry's father, Vincent is leading the effort in his son's name-- not only to honor Terry, but also to provide resources, information, and best practices so that other families can avoid the tragedy he and his family have experienced.
Florence Demming
Treasurer
Florence Demming served on the Montclair School Board for over a decade, both as a member and as Board President. She has extensive experience in developing and managing foundations, corporate contributions, community relations, and social responsibility programs
Victor Demming Sr.
Secretary
Victor Demming is a retired education executive who previously worked in Jersey City, West Orange, and East Orange as a business manager.
